"Dr. Van," as her patients call her, is an experienced obstetrician whose patients adore her gentle approach. She also has expertise in gynecologic surgery and laparoscopy, and she is a member of the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons. In medical school she was a recipient of the National Institutes of Health's research fellowship.

Dr. Van is fond of East Asian art and can converse in Chinese. She and her husband, a spine surgeon, have two sons. They enjoy traveling and golf and are members of Mount Vernon Baptist Church. Dr. Van also likes to play classical piano for relaxation.
