Peter A. Zedler, M.D.
Having practiced general obstetrics and gynecology since 1984, Dr. Zedler directed his practice toward gynecology and gynecologic surgery in 1999. He is particularly interested in the challenges for women associated with menopause and osteoporosis. Dr. Zedler is certified as a menopausal clinician by the North American Menopause Society. He is also certified by the International Society of Clinical Densitometry.
Under Dr. Zedler's direction, Virginia Women's Center has had an active research program since 2002. Areas of research include contraception, hormone replacement, osteoporosis and cervical dysplasia. The program continues to actively recruit patients as new studies are launched.
Dr. Zedler is married with three children. He and his family enjoy travel, especially when it involves camping, backpacking and fishing. Dr. Zedler is a history buff and likes to read historical nonfiction, as well as take in programs that chronicle events in history.
