Tawanna O. Gilliard, M.D.

Virginia Women's Center is excited to announce the addition of Tawanna O. Gilliard, M.D. to our Henrico Doctors' Forest Medical Plaza location. Dr. Gilliard received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Morris Brown College in Atlanta, Georgia. She continued her education at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston where she received her medical degree. Dr. Gilliard completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania where she served as the chief resident.

Dr. Gilliard is joining Virginia Women's Center from St. Mary's Hospital where she held the position of hospitalist for the Ob/Gyn department. Dr. Gilliard is involved in many professional societies including the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, of which she is a fellow, as well as the American Medical Society. Dr. Gilliard is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology.

At Virginia Women's Center, Dr. Gilliard will be delivering babies in the hospital Labor & Delivery unit as well as seeing Virginia Women's Center patients with obstetrical or gynecologic problems who come to the hospital.

In her spare time, Dr. Gilliard enjoys spending time with her husband and her hobbies include reading, biking and cooking.
