Christina (Chris) M. Slavin joined Virginia Women’s Center in January 2017. Chris is a board-certified family nurse practitioner who specializes in women’s health. She earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing from Rutgers University in Newark, N.J. and holds her Masters of Science in nursing from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA. Chris joins VWC with more than 20 years of experience as a nurse practitioner.

Chris’ training as a family nurse practitioner makes her ideally suited for understanding the emotional and physical demands placed on women in today’s busy world. She approaches the patient as a whole and tries to address all aspects of their care.

Prior to joining Virginia Women’s Center, Chris spent many years as a registered nurse in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, before moving to Virginia and working at MCV and then Lynchburg General Hospital. Chris also spent four years as a nursing instructor at Liberty University. Since 2001, Chris has dedicated her life to caring for those living in the Northern Neck. Most recently, Chris served the patients of Bon Secours Heathsville Family Practice in Kilmarnock.

When she’s not caring for patients, Chris enjoys spending time with her husband and son. She enjoys crocheting and watching her son play baseball whenever she can. She’s also the proud stepmother of two older boys. Chris is active in her Church and at her son’s school. And, she’s passionate about helping others and has volunteered with the Cub Scouts, Special Olympics, the NNK Free Clinic and YWCA Domestic Violence Prevention Center.
