Karin W. Buettner, MD
Obstetrics and GynecologyDr. Buettner has built a successful practice around the needs of women of all ages. She emphasizes individualized medical care, by getting to know the unique qualities of her patients. Dr. Buettner is an advocate for disease prevention and optimal well-being for women in their teens to menopause and beyond.
Dr. Buettner is a skilled surgeon in traditional surgeries as well as minimally invasive surgeries. Virginia Women’s Center patients for whom surgery is necessary can benefit from Dr. Buettner’s training in using the daVinci® Surgical System for minimally invasive procedures.
Educated in both her native Germany and the U.S., Dr. Buettner has two medical degrees—M.D. and Dr. Med. She is married to a classical pianist and has one daughter. When not at work, her family is busy with exercise, travel and church activities. They also enjoy biking, hiking, skiing, cooking and reading.
