Elisabeth A. McGaw, M.D. joined Virginia Women’s Center in 2017 and practices at our Midlothian location. Dr. McGaw enjoys helping women in all stages of their lives. She knows that it’s important to build a relationship of trust and takes time to educate her patients and craft their treatment plans—together with them.
Dr. McGaw received a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a Chemistry minor from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her Doctorate of Medicine from the Quillen School of Medicine at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City. Dr. McGaw completed her internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center. She enjoys research and has been a part of a retrospective case study involving fistula formation in women treated for cervical cancer with radiation at MCV/VCU since 2014.
When she’s not caring for women, Dr. McGaw loves cooking—all different types of cuisine—and gardening. And, she loves to travel. She’s been to France and Italy and volunteered on a medical mission trip to Peru. Her time caring for women in Peru gave her an incredible appreciation for our medical resources and what we can offer women here in the United States. Dr. McGaw is a huge Tar Heel basketball fan.
